A Low Maintenance Front Garden

Garden before front garden layout plan
Hydrangea arborescens 'Annabelle' Polystichum setiferum

The brief was to create a low maintenance front garden. As the garden faces east, it gets little sun in the day. The garden had been concreted over in places and to keep within budget, planting was worked around this. A pittosporum tenuifolium hedge has been planted along the front garden wall, a low box hedge under the window and a box square in the centre. Hydrangea arborescens 'Annabelle' and Skimmia japonica are planted in the corners, with evergreen ferns along the sides. Pebbles are used to hide the rest of the concrete.
