Front Garden with Sandstone Squiggles

Garden before front garden layout plan

This large front garden originally had a concrete drive with pebbles on each side and an overgrown hedge. To unify the space, we dug up the concrete, topped up the pebbles, and for interest, put in some sinuous curves of sandstone setts that contain areas of planting. At the front bounday we planted a low hummocky Pittosporum hedge and palm, and in the shady areas nearer the house a mix of ferns and clipped yew and box balls. Rollover the large image to see the garden before.
